Overview of Primary Purpose

The James Worthy Foundation’s Board of Directors exercise general power and authority to control and manage the affairs and property of the foundation in accordance with the purposes and limitations set forth in the Certificate of Incorporation. Our BOD's fiduciary purpose is to provide oversight, value-add support, and enforce the mission and philosophy of the James Worthy Foundation with integrity and dedication as follows:  

• To identify and support community based organizations that address the educational, health, and social needs of children, young adults and inner-city communities throughout the nation;

• To adhere to the principles of the Foundation that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of people living in underserved communities through service, leadership and organizational excellence;

• To actively review and support worthy and effective programs of the Foundation that advance education and empower the community.
